A community event to raise awareness of child abuse prevention sponsored by McDonald’s and WIOG in partnership with The CAN Council of Saginaw, Nathan Weidner Children Advocacy Center and Safe &  Sound.

Sam’s Club Community Awareness Day

April 23, 2011 10am - 6pm

Sam’s Club - 5656 Bay Rd, Saginaw

Volunteers will distribute pinwheels and parent packets.

Prevention Awareness Day

April 12, 2011 11am

State Capital - Lansing

A rally, procession and planting of a pinwheel garden to show support for child abuse prevention programs in the area.

Sam’s Club Community Awareness Day

April 2, 2011 10am - 6pm

Sam’s Club - 5656 Bay Rd, Saginaw

Volunteers will distribute pinwheels and parent packets.

Pinwheels for Prevention Garden & Blue Ribbons

April 1, 2011 - Noon

Saginaw County Courthouse Lawn

This is a 15 minute program in which the county proclamation will be read.  Blue ribbons and pinwheels will be placed on Saginaw County’s courthouse lawn.  The Children’s Memorial Flag reminding us of the children who have died, will also fly over the courthouse for the month of April.  Blue ribbons will be tied on trees along Michigan Avenue.

Faith Based Community Day

Faith Based Community Day, Sunday April 25, 2010

9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. -  Fill a Van for CAN
CAN Van will be collecting needed items from our
wish list at  St. Matthews (1501 N Center/Brockway).

12:30 to 1:00 p.m. - CAN Council Tours
Join us after church at the CAN Council building (1311 N. Michigan) for tours, cake and punch and delivery of donated items (items will be collected at this time too).

1:00 p.m. Closing Ceremony of CAP Month
