SOS: Safer Older Smarter
Second Grade Personal Safety Program
|
Program Overview
What does a stranger look like to a second grader?
How do you teach children to listen to their instincts? What are some signs in adults that every parent should act on? How do you teach children to use personal space when they feel uncomfortable? The program provides personal safety information and techniques to second graders. The SOS: Safer - Older - Smarter- Second Grade Personal Safety Program is a one-hour presentation and activity book. The program expands upon the Michigan Model Personal Safety Second Grade Program. The presentation is designed to provide children with age appropriate vocabulary and strategies to help keep themselves safe. The activity book that goes home with the students is designed to reinforce these principles and educate parents about their vital role in protecting children.
