School-Based Programs

CAN Council’s Child Abuse Prevention Education (CAPE) programs work to prevent child abuse through education.

Our trained facilitators use the MBF Child Safety Matters® and MBF Teen Safety Matters® curricula. These comprehensive, evidence-based, practical, and easy-to-implement programs teach children to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to bullying, cyberbullying, all types of child abuse, digital abuse, and other digital dangers.

Safe Baby

Middle school and high school

With our Safe Baby program, students experience the realities of parenthood through a week-long program that includes presentations and the use of our computerized infant simulators.

During the presentations, students will be educated on how alcohol consumption can affect a developing fetus, how to protect babies while they sleep, and shocking statistics related to shaken baby syndrome.
